Chicago
I’m about a week behind, but finally getting to tell you about our trip to Chicago with the kids the weekend before last. We rode the train up there on Friday night and back on Sunday night – so we had right around 48 hours in the Windy City and did about as much in that time as you could. We went to the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, saw a movie, went to Shedd Aquarium and took a boat tour of the canal & lakefront (that included getting drenched for free, which was much appreciated since it was 97 degrees and sunny). We walked a lot (a bit too much in the blazing sun on Sunday), but the kids did great and loved it. Here are some impressions (I really like the three of them looking out the window – that was right after we arrived in our room on the 21st floor which was pretty much right above the Bean):
Ich bin etwa eine Woche zu spät dran, aber komme heute endlich dazu von unserem Chicago Wochenende mit den Kindern vor etwas über einer Woche zu berichten. Wir sind Freitag abends mit dem Zug hingefahren und am Sonntag Abend zurück – also hatten wir ziemlich genau 48 Stunden vor Ort – und die haben wir ordentlich vollgepackt. Wir waren um Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, im Kino, im Aquarium und haben eine Bootstour auf dem Kanal und Lake Michigan gemacht (inkl. kostenloser Dusche – wir sind komplett nassgeworden, war aber super, da es um die 38 Grad warm war). Wir sind viel gelaufen (etwas zu viel in der prallen Sonne am Sonntag), aber die Kinder haben sich super geschlagen und fanden es toll. Hier ein paar Eindrücke (ich mag das Bild besonders, in dem die 3 alle aus dem Fenster gucken – das war direct nach unserer Ankunft und wir waren ziemlich genau über der Bean im 21. Stock):

Bei der Arbeit geht es richtig rund, da die Party fast vor der Tür steht – also kann es sein, dass ich mich in den kommenden Wochen nicht blicken lasse – keine Sorge, danach melde ich mich wieder.
