I’ve had plenty of requests to do this in past months (and even before I left Germany ^^) so this week – behold – I finally got around to taking a bunch of pictures inside and ourside of our house for everyone to see.
Nach zahlreichen Aufforderungen in den letzten Monaten (und sogar schon vor meiner Abreise ^^), ist es mir – man staune – diese Woche endlich gelungen, einen Haufen Fotos von unserem Haus – innen und außen – zu schießen.
So here is the house from the front and back and yes, all that is our yard:

As you come in, this is what you see:
Wenn man reinkommt, hat man diesen Blick:
There is one flight of stairs on the left that lead to the basement (the door on the left leads into the garage) and the stairs to the right lead up.
Soll heißen es geht eine Treppe links ins Untergeschoss (die Türe auf der linken Seite führt in die Garagen) und eine Treppe rechts nach oben.
If you go up and turn around, this is the view of our door and entryway:

In this picture, the top of the staircase is behind the shelves on the left. This view is the one from our living room window and I’m trying to show you that there are two entryways (without doors) into our kitchen here.
In diesem Foto befinden sich die Treppen links von dem Regal. Diesen Blick hat man, wenn man vor unserem Wohnzimmerfenster steht und ich versuche euch die beiden (türlosen) Eingänge in unsere Küche zu zeigen.
This is what the kitchen looks like (standing in the doorway that’s on the right in the picture above):

Back into the house. Here is our living room from both sides:
Zurück ins Haus. Hier ist das Wohnzimmer von beiden Seiten:
So when coming up the stairs you could go straight into the kitchen or right into our living room. If you turn left you turn into this hallway:Wenn man die Treppen hochkommt, kann man geradeaus in die Küche gehen oder rechts in unser Wohnzimmer. Wenn man links geht, kommt man in diesen Flur:
The hallway has two closets – the first door on the left is one and the one that you can make out just a little at the very end and left. The first door to the right leads to the kids‘ bathroom:
Der Flur hat zwei Einbau(kleider)schränke – die erste Tür auf der linken Seite und die Tür die man am Ende auf der linken Seite erkennen kann. Die erste Tür rechts führt ins Bad der Kinder:
The second door on the right leads to our bedroom.
Die zweite Tür rechts führt in unser Schlafzimmer.
The first picture was taken from the doorway, the second from behind the bed. We bought a new mattress in January, but still haven’t bought a frame – one of the few things we’re still missing. Link closet doors, see picture 3. In the second pic all the way on the left you can see part of another doorway, this one leads into our bathroom. To the right of the toilet is our sink; it didn’t make it into the picture.
Der erste Blick ist von der Tür die ins Schlafzimmer führt, der zweite vom Bett aus. Wir haben im Januar ein neue Matratze, aber noch kein Bettgestell gekauft, das ist eine der letzten Sachen, die noch fehlen. Wie auch Schranktüren für unseren Kleiderschrank, siehe Bild 3. Im zweiten Bild siehts man ganz links den Ausschnitt einer weiteren Tür, diese führt in unser Bad. Rechts neben dem Klo ist unser Waschbecken, das hat nicht mehr aufs Bild gepasst.
Back to the hallway and the remaining doors on the left. The second door to the left leads into Alyssa’s room and beyond that, the last door on the left takes you to Owen’s room.
Zurück in den Flur und zu den verbleibenden zwei Türen auf der linken Seite. Die zweite Tür links führt in Alyssas Zimmer, die letzte Tür auf der linken Seite in Owens.
If you went downstairs instead of up, the door across from the stairs leads to the laundry room and guest bathroom (there’s a shower right of the clothes rack).
Wenn man nach unten geht, läuft man von der Treppe aus geradeaus in unser Waschzimmer/ Gästebad (rechts vom Kleiderständer ist eine weitere Dusche).
If you turn right, you see this: our wood stove.
Wenn man rechts geht, schaut man auf unseren Ofen.
Across from the stove you will find our desk which is still waiting to be organized correctly ^^.
Gegenüber des Ofens steht unser Schreibtisch, der immer noch darauf wartet richtig organisiert zu werden ^^.
The rest of the room (everything left of the stove) is our home theater – our projector, old couch and a very comfy chair. Tuesday night is movie night :)!
Der Rest des Zimmers (quasi links vom Ofen) ist unser Heimkino – unser Beamer, die alte Couch und ein sehr gemütlicher Sessel. Dienstags ist Filmabend :)!
